An extraordinary mix of catchy melodies, fat guitar riffs, driving drums and the power voice of frontman Danny Meyer, that’s OVERSENSE.
The music of the Lower Franconian band lives on their debut album “The Storyteller”, which will be released on 05/12/2017 via Dr. Music Records, from the variety of songwriting that moves between different metal and rock styles. The combination of hard headbanger riffs, bombastic orchestra and choirs create a unique sound in the form of fast heavy metal tracks to melodious power rock.
In addition to renowned metal festivals such as the Out & Loud and the Christmas Bash Festival, the band has already supported metal greats such as In Extremo and Order Ogan at the Metal Hammer Awards and recently toured europe with metal legend DORO.
In 2012, Oversense was founded as a studio project by Danny Meyer and Patrick Lippert. The first songs were recorded in the home studio and mixed and mastered in collaboration with producer Olaf Reitmeier in the Gatestudio in Wolfsburg.
Soon it was clear: these songs have to be on stage. The missing band members were supplemented by friends and former fellow musicians and also by contacts made via social networks. In 2013, Oversense took to the stage for the first time in full cast.
After the 2014 debut EP “Dreamcatcher”, which was recorded on its own and mixed in the Wolfsburg Gate Studio, work began immediately for her new record “The Storyteller”. After the first drum recordings in February 2015, twelve pieces were created again in close cooperation with the producers Olaf Reitmeier (Avantasia, Kamelot, Epica) and Miro Rodenberg (Edguy, Brainstorm, Rhapsody Of Fire), which were arranged, recorded and produced with great attention to detail.
With “The Storyteller” the Melodic Metaller around singer Danny Meyer, the two guitarists Marco Volpert and Marcel Winkler, bassist Lisa Geiß (ex-Arven) and drummer Patrick Lippert connect directly to their EP. However, they surprise with an extra load of hard riffs and pressing drums, as well as some style experiments.
OVERSENSE have produced an impressive album with “The Storyteller”, which will certainly cause a sensation in the scene. The northern Bavarians confirm that the German melodic metal offspring are in good shape. OVERSENSE have put together a strong team and with their new album they have produced a very special masterpiece that will not only inspire fans of bands like Edguy, Orden Ogan or Brainstorm!
